The first Loughton Festival was held in the spring of 2007. It attracted a large audience, many of whom travelled to Loughton to enjoy a weekend of talks, music, art events and an extremely popular walk through Epping Forest. One of the talks led to the inception of the Arthur Morrison Society. Details about the Arthur Morrison Society are available from the Loughton Festival office.
In 2008, there will be a similar range of talks, music and other events, but unlike last year, the programme will be spread over a full week, starting with the first May Bank Holiday on 3rd May.
Main Venues: The National Jazz Archive in Loughton Library, The Church of the Holy Innocents, High Beach, The Lopping Hall, Loughton Methodist Church.
Loughton is at the Epping end of the Central Line. Buses from Walthamstow, Ilford, Chingford, Gants Hill and Epping.
